So, gonna be helping a buddy build a Koi pond in the coming weeks. Doing lot's of research on bottom drains,
DIY bio-dilters (SKIPPY!), etc. Figure working on someone else's pond prior to doing my own would be good practice.
Anyway, one thing I am a little confused on at this point is regarding some conflicting info I have been reading on how much water should be pumped each hour. Some sites say that it should be pond volume 2x per hour because of the extra waste Koi produce. Then some other sites say don't do more than once per hour so that the water doesn't go through the Bio-filter too quickly for the nitrification cycle to work completely.
So, just curious what the consensus is of the experts. Thanks!
