I have to wonder if that is a kenyi, a met zebra can breed w/ a kenyi so that would make them able to spawn together. You might end up w/ some hybrid fry if that is a red zebra, which my vote is he is a zebra.

im very sure he is a kenyi i have seen him as a young fish and seen many of its offspring it is a male kenyi he has recently turned orange and his black stripes have faded yet sometimes you can actually see them

Was he blue/black as a fry??
If not he isn't a kenyi. All kenyi fry are blue just like their mothers.

If so, then he will eventually turn completly yellow.

yeah he was blue black stripes and the fry he produces are blue black and this morning i looked at him and his black stripes were completely there and dark it is wierd plus he was just trying to spawn with his mate but i put her in a growout tank g=because she is holding eggs
could that be a reasonfor his orangeness
