kenyi??

i have looked a several sites and visited many LFS and at every fish store i get a different answer on how hard/easy it is to care for them

my boss had a kenyi tank for five years and said he never had a problem and that they were easy to take care of is this like a once in a life time thing

Kenyi are very easy to take care of, they are primariy veggie eaters so keeping their diet proper is very important. I put in a veggie clip: zuchini, romaine lettuce and feed them peas w/ the hull taken off.
Also I feed them spirula flakes. Then I use an OSI cichlid flake.

The 20 percent waterchanges twice a week will keep the nitrates down, and the water good and clean, the fish love that!

I knock on wood have had great luck with my kenyi, and kenyi fry.

if you blanch them (put them in boiling water for 20 seconds, then in an ice/cold water bath) they should sink without the clip

Use a veggie clip so that what they don't eat you can get to before it rots in the tank. The veggie clips cost about 2 dollars.
