10g Planted Betta Tank

I got Dexter on November 3, 2009 from Petco. He is a multicolored metallic doubletail betta. As of today he is in a planted 10g tank with 2 anubius plants (I had 3 kyoto grass in the tank as well, but removed them when I discovered they are not actually aquatic plants). I ordered wisteria, micro sword, and java moss from a reputable seller on eBay and am awaiting their arrival. Once the plants arrive and I add them to the tank I will make another update.

Hello JAA Your tank and Betta are beautiful. I think he's really going to enjoy swimming through the tree stump. Thanks for sharing the photos!

The plants I ordered on eBay arrived today! What made it even more special was they arrived on my birthday, so it was like a present for me lol. I ordered java moss, wisteria, and micro sword to go along with the anubius I already had. The guy I ordered them from even threw in an extra plant... though I don't know what it is, I think it may be a lily.

The java moss is tied around a cork so it floats at the top of the tank.

Dexter is having a blast swimming through all the new plants! He seems to love the wisteria the most.

Ohhh Happy birthday! Dexter is one very lucky betta to have such a good mommy! The java moss on the cork is a fabulous idea!

Nice plants! The mystery plant looks like a banana lily to me. The micro sword kinda looks like dwarf hairgrass IMO, but plant ID's aren't my strong point so I may be wrong. Either way, it's best to gently remove it from the pot and remove the "fuzz" from the roots. Then you can plant it in the substrate.

And that's a beautiful betta BTW!

Thanks everyone! I can't wait for the plants to grow a bit and really fill in the tank.

The only problem with that floating java moss is it likes to place itself under the filter.

Omgosh! He is GORGEOUS!!! Don't be alarmed if you find your boy missing when you wake up
His tank is very well put together too! Good job!!

Oh and as for the java moss, you could tie it down to the center piece to prevent it from floating. I used sewing thread to attach mine to a rock.

Thank you very much. I found that beauty at Petco!

As for the java moss, I want it to float. I tied it to a cork to make sure it won't sink. lol
