Jack eggs!!

Well I can't hold it in any longer...I tried. Not trying to keep a secret from any of you just trying not to jinx my jacks like I did my angels. Hopefully this will not jinx them. I am again working on electric blues I just could not help it they are just too pretty. We now have a clay pipe full of eggs. The mom hates me by now and if the dad could get through that glass he would chew my head right off. This is a blue gene to blue gene pair and so 25% of the fry should be electric blue. The others will be 75% blue gene and 25% regular jacks but you cannot tell those two apart. We should have wigglers on sunday or monday at the latest if all goes well.

LOL. I'm hooked on them. They are soooooo pretty. I have regular jacks, blue gene jacks, yellow jacks, and I really really really can't wait to find the red jack too...not to mention I can't wait to have a tank full of electric blue fry.

TY. These are from a different group but I plan on crossing some of the babies of these and the babies of the others later on down the line. Hopefully getting some stronger blood lines in these fish.

I'll try but it is going to be hard to get a shot of them where they are right now.

They are already peeved at me. I keep taking Tommy's little flashlight and peeping in....that daddy fish wants to hurt me. Tommy was telling me just to leave them alone but then earlier I caught him over there with the flashlight...he couldn't stand it either LOL.

I love them all the color of the EBJDs is just unbelieveable. I got the yellow ones at the auction and they kinda looked pink at first but are starting to get more of a yellowish color now. From what I have read they get more yellow with age. I have not seen the red yet but I really have not taken a lot of time to research that color either. I did not know about there being reds until Michael said something about it...probably would have been best if I had never found out!!

Don't be jealous....I would have never tried again with this if it had not been for this website and all of you!!! I had given up until I got on here. So this is an accomplishment for all of us not just one. Thanks for giving me the strength to try again with a fish that is soooooo hard to raise!! I know about your Shawnie and you did a great job with that rescue...I am so glad they had you in their lives!!!

TY Carol. Tommy got the pipe in the silent auction, I don't think they came from Juan I will have to check. There were two of them and they were about 18 inches I guess. Michael cut them in half for me so now I have four of them at just the right size for fish hidey holes and apparently they really like them. They look like a type of brick and I think Michael said he had seem something similar at the brickyard....must go check that out since they work so well.

I'm glad the babies are doing good and growing. I just moved about 20 more into the growing section to put the little ones in the other side so they get to swim more.

Update: The eggs are now babies!!!

Well the mom and dad never would let me get a pic of them with the babies. I did steal the babies Thursday and put them in a 10 gal with the baby cories. They are pigging out on golden pearls and decapsulated brine shrimp. I will get Michael to get some pics for me ASAP since I give up on cameras altogether!!!

I do have to say that momma fish tried to take me apart!!! That is really putting it mildly. For some reason my turkey baster has sprouted legs and took off so I used a medicine dropper to steal the babies. Well momma JD hit my arm and hand several times...I felt teeth I am sure but no blood. She bit the dropper and tried to kill it several times. She is pouting right now still but she is getting extra goodies and will get a good water change tomorrow to hopefully cheer her up. For some reason the daddy did not bother me...I think he was kinda scared of the momma...I know I was. I did a bunch of screaming and hollering and I just about took the glass top off of the tank a couple of times trying to get away before part of my arm was her lunch.
