Hello everyone....I'm new to this forum, but not new to cichlid keeping. I haven't had a cichlid tank in about 8 years. My husband and I both love cichlids, especially
JD's. We used to have a beautiful custom 175 gallon about 7 years ago. Unfortunately we had a devastating fire in our home and lost our tank along with all of our wonderful fish. So I've been keeping the hobby small for a few years, just keeping
betta fish.
We recently decided that we will get back into cichlids. We've come to the decision that we will be keeping a JD only tank. Right now I have 3 standard JD's in a 30 gallon. They're only about an inch long. We've ordered a 175 gallon tank and we are waiting for it's arrival. I'm so excited to seriously get back into this hobby. So excited that I just purchased an EBJD from aquabid. He/she is about 1 1/2" long. Once the tank arrives and cycles they will be moving to their permanent home.
Here's a picture of our new addition. One thing I'm not good at is sexing. If anybody can help in that department I would greatly appreciate it.
