| You get about 25% electric blue fry from a blue gene jd X blue gene jd spawn. If you breed a blue jd with a blue gene jd they throw about 50% blue fry.It's a personal decision to buy or sell blue gene's. If it's $400 for 2 fish and that's a big decision to make. Again, $400 for 2 fish. Raising the fry is a large undertaking as well. I think you have to be in it for the hobby and producing a quality electric blue.
I wanted to add this. I see post of people who have purchased blue gene jack dempsey's in the other forums I visit. In their post they seem to always say "was sold to me as a blue gene jack dempsey" . Is there always some doubt of what they actually have? I'm not saying the seller isn't honest but there always seems to be a little doubt. If you buy an electric blue jd or any fish for that matter you know what you have. (except hybrids of course).
