Not sure if I missed information on previous post but are there any other fish in with them? Looks like they are learning. In time they'll get it right.

i hope they do, didnt buy them to breed but now id like them to succeed, they seem to do everything right, mum fans the eggs constantly while dad looks on and flys to the front of the tank when anyone approaches, then when hatching she moves them to pits dad has dug. 48hours later they eat them. just cant work them out.

I would pull the adaults from the tank as soon as I knew that the eggs hatched IF I were worried about keeping the fry. If you don't have another tank large enough for them just take them out long enough to net most of the young, and move the young to a smaller tank.

I personaly am into small livebearers such as guppies, mollies and platties. Many many many people do that with them. I personaly don't get too concerned. Whatever lives lives. I purchased another 35 gal tank yesterday. Set it up today. It is gonna house cichlids, but not sure what species yet. I am leaning towards a pair of JD but am gonna try to get my girlfriend to decide on them so that she thinks I let her pick them out.
