Well it's been awhile since my last successful spawn with my male EBJD and his partner. That was my doing. I've had them with many other cichlids and decided to give them their own tank again. They are in a 40 gallon breeder with pool sand substrate, temperature @ 78, sponge filter and a
HOB filter.
You can see the female is nice and fat with eggs. I've been feeding multiple times a day (when possible) and doing 25% water changes every two days. I should start to see mounds of sand and some pot cleaning very shortly.
Their last spawn was about a month ago but as she was laying the eggs it was snack time for everyone else. I have about 12 blue gene
JD's that are from a Sept. 2008 spawn. I culled them down to this amount leaving me with the largest and best body shape and color.
So now onto round two.
I'll keep this thread updated as the spawn progresses. Wish them luck. Rich
