I thought I'd start a kind of Photo Diary Thread to show how Jack Dempseys change as they grow. Here are the first pic of my JD, Cresswell, taken on his first day in the tank. He was very shy, and got bullied by the Jewel Cichlids and chased by the Oscar a bit.

And here he is 2 weeks later. He bullies the Jewels now, and even stands up to the Oscar.

wow what a difference in coloring in such a short time! I'm happy for you...
you must have bought from good stock. He looks great.
Which takes me to my own JDs. They pretty much still look like your first photo (in coloring anyway) and one is a year old this month! I just cant believe it... Something to be said about making sure you buy from good stock!

1 Month since he arrived. Quite a change from day one! He's now the most aggressive fish in the tank, Brute the Oscar is the only fish he doesn't push around now, although he gets on very well with the Blue Acara.

He's now been here about 2 months, and is by far the most aggressive of all my Cichlids. He'd be the boss of the tank if Brute, my Oscar, wasn't so much bigger than him! Any idea's on his sex?
