i have a JD about 3" and a tiger oscar also about 3". they were purchased together. the jd has started to torment the oscar. the oscar does not engage the jd when the jd attacks. im looking for some insight on this behavior.

Best bet's probably going to be to re-locate one of your prize fighters. I know that aint much insight but, it is what it is. Perhaps re-locating big jack for a short period, remodeling the tank and then try to introduce him again.

I had the same problems with my Oscars, same size, bought together, and then one of them started to beat the other up until I had to find him a new home. The remaining Oscar now lives with 2 Jewels, a Dempsey, a Blue Acara and Convicts all of whom are much smaller than him, and he doesn't pick on any of them. He only seemed to have issues with a fish the same size as him. Perhaps you could try exchanging the JD for a smaller one?

thanks for the input. its time for the weekly water change. will rearrange the tank. if this doesn't resolve the issue i will get another tank to keep jd.
