If its possible, if you can try getting a close up shot of the fish from the side view, with enough of the gill plate and area showing someone may be able to come along and give you a hand with the ID.

ok, we look forward to the photos. In the meantime you may want to check out the photos of the JDs in the cichlid forum and maybe by looking at them there you may be able to tell what gender yours are.
