New Jack Dempsey and I've got a question

Well my little blue passed away and it seems it may have been my fault The cycle process had not fully completed as I had thought. At any rate I got my water tested and kept working on my tank until it was right. I now have two juvenile jacks and they appear to be a male and female. The fish store where I get my fish suggested that I feed my fish every other day. I just wonder if that's enough to allow them to grow properly? What do you guys think?

Thanks for any advice.

WELCOME to fishlore! !No its not enough..my jacks eat a couple times a day..and they eat pellets, frozen krill, and frozen bloodworms...theres alot to choose from...and do you have a test kit to make sure your water is ok?? sometimes trusting your LFS isnt a good idea...I learned the hardway ! goodluck

Hey Joe, Glad to see your back with some JD's. Good luck with them. Anything with them in the tank? Rich

Personally I don't check my water. If you test it and something is not right the recommended remedy is a water change. I do that @ least once week on all my tanks anyway.

Hey Rich, yes I still have some danios and a couple Cory cats in there. I suspect that when the JD's grow the others will disappear. But guess that's just collateral damage.

They are so much livelier than my Blue was so I'm starting to think that he may have been a little sick from the start. Not sure though.
