Need Help- lumps or spots on tail fin

I am hoping that someone can help me. I have 2 Iridescent Sharks. Like many others I did not do my research before buying them. Anyway, my problem is the larger of my 2 sharks has some kind of strange spots on its tail fin. They are hard to describe and even when doing research to find out what is wrong and how to treat it, I haven't found anything that sounds like what the fish has. There are three of them, as I said on the tail fin. They are almost a grayish color and on the underside a orangish red. They look nothing like ick. They are actual lumps, almost perfectly rounded and stick out from the fin. If I had to guess the diameter I would say 1/8" to 1/4". The strange part is 2 of them are exactly in the same spot on each side of the fin, almost like they are stuck together on the fin. Kinda like what you could do with 2 magnets and a piece of paper. The other stange thing is they weren't there yesturday. The fish is acting normal and otherwise looks normal. I hope there is someone out there who can help me and quickly. I know that with most fish diseases time is of the essence.

Re: Need Help- lumps or spots on tail fin

I had a Sarassa Comet that had something like that. I never could ID it either. I used a fungal cure. That seemed to get rid of it. It was never like you were saying about the bothsides magnet example, but it did seem to pop up over night. They opened up into sores after a day or so. Don't know if it's the same thing but, you might try a fungii treatment.

P.S. I too have 2 Irridescent Sharks that I purchased early in my learning curve. Lesson learned, they are about 9 inches long at 2 1/2 yrs old.
