hi i wish i would have read this earlier..

hi i went to the LFS to get them to double check my sample of wter as i felt that i had competed the nitro cycle.... they checked the water stated all was zero, pH was 6.
as per usual i wanted all the big nut fis but they advised me to keep small to start of with then in about 2 -3 weeks start to add the oddballs that i wanted.
so i alreday had zebra danios, i bout neons and i wanted a catfish, they advised me to hold on putting the pictus and showed me a hardeir one to start with.
after asking all the appropraite questions i.e size of tank they stated best to get more than one...so i just got 2 as i really didnt know thst these fish existed!!!!
to my surprise its the id shark!!
cant take it back as its been about 2 weeks now...
they are tiny t present about 5cm,
i know i ill have to donate them when they get larger as i only have a 350 litre tank but how long does that mean i get to keep them?
also i have been feeding the, flake and algae wafers which they have ignored shall i try frozen bloodworm?
this does mpact on potential tank mates /.? what should i steer clear of>
sorry about the hundred questions but in a state of panic...
thanks

Hi there, I am a newbie at this but I know already not to listen to the sales person and to do some online surfing from now on, I myself have been sold 3 clown loaches for a 130lit tank!! these guys grow to 30cm long! I stormed back to the store and they told me if these guys even live that long!?- They will buy them back off me, so yes you'll either have to sell them back or get a larger tank, sometimes these sales people either don't know - don't care or just think that your poor old fishys won't last that long to grow that big to begin with! (how rude!) I don't know how long you've had these guys in there but its normal for new additions to tanks not to eat for 24 hrs as they are adjusting, also most fish LOVE bloodworm-I only give to mine as a treat though as they do fatten the little guys up very quickly! I cant answer the other questions for you, hopefully someone else can help you, good luck.
