I wonder what this is?

This "sea plant" has been growing on this rock for over two years, maybe three. I've never thought much about it, as it seems harmless, but would love to know what it is just in case it is problematic

thanks

Well I am not a salty here but whatever that is it is pretty and has a great color to it. If it has been there for 2-3 years it probably won't be a problem but I am sure somebody with more experience in saltwater will be along shortly to tell you exactly what it is.

Yup, I have been doing this for some time now, but without a degree in Marine Biology! I have a degree in Marine Technology, but that only helps me with my boat. lol. The plant is some sort of red seaweed, but I am having trouble finding the exact strain. The fish don't eat it, maybe I should.
