what is this

once again i need help............i just noticed a dark pink/light red worm like creature w/ white spikes all around him.....not sure how long he is, hes hiding in my live rock just wondering if theres anything to worry about

i have tried time after time to get a pic but as soon as i get the camera hes already back in his hole not to mention with the red lights in my tank ( durring night time) gettin a clear picture isnt the easiest of tasks

It sounds like a bristleworm (don't stick your hands in the tank a lot of people get skin reactions fromo them, and don't try to grab it some of those little guys sting)

Yeah defiantly sounds like a bristle worm. I hate those things they leave slimy like trail and cocoon. But their not supposed to be nonharmful.

agree on bristle worm they are good for your rock and eat stuff inside the rock keeping the rock doing its job ,,, as stated above try not to touch it as the bristles stick in your skin and if you dont react to it ,it is still annoying , bit like rockwall insulation very annoying

it may be a fireworm. theyre known to be live rock stowaways, and devour tankmates.

Fire bristle worm can eat feather duster and/or its relatives and mollusks. there are other worms which can be threat to corals such as Palolo Sp worms but doubtful if it is what you have. google for more info/pics to compare.
