I set up my sw reef tank 55 uk galls with 25 gall sump & added 50+ lbs live rock 6 weeks ago. Alls great, all tests show zero. various life showing now ie, c. algae, vegetation etc. However I now have some green tubes growing out from the rock. They have a dark green spot on the end and appear segmented. They are about 1/2 inch long and 1/8 inch in diameter. They appear to have spread quite well, they dont move and I cant see any life within it ie no tenticles or such like. I also have some 'dead' rock in too & these things are growing on that too. Any ideas?
Your help would be appreciated.

The only thing I can think of from your description is zoanthids. Do you have any pics that would help with the identification of it?

Unfortunately like many others my camera only seems to focus on things it wants to! So this is the best I can do - not very good I'm afraid. It is slightly curved and all of them are the same - just some smaller than this one, which is about 1/2 long
