a rescue that needs to be fixed..just not sure how yet lol
I picked up these poor things this morning from a friend who has noooooooo fish keeping knowledge...after many attempts to help her, she just said come and get everything!!!
so home come these guys...they are either total pink convicts or a pink convict hybrid..they are so stressed and came out of a 20 gal long tank
omg is right...plenty of tanks, NO SPACE LEFT...the 57 gal long and the 20 gal long (to go with the other 2 ) are all in the shed for now...grrr ...right now these poor fish are in a 30 gal and coloring up so much more so maybe i can identify them...was thinking they were the jellys amanda but wasnt sure
heres my pink female convict and she deffinately looks different than these new kids DSC01054.jpg
..their pH was below 6 in their old tank and ammonia was around 4ppm and ben ...the 75 deffinately has to be the african tank LOL ..its full of crushed coral and bf wants a ton more africans

That's it, I'm coming to visit all these fish this summer! rofl.
That's crazy, maybe your LFS will take a couple off your hands?
Are you planning on keeping them all?
my lfs isnt a place to send fish LOL ..now and then I get lucky on their fish and their health but its not the best care that id like to send them too....get in ya car and come n get a tank and some fish woman!!!
Rofl, wouldn't my mother LOVE that! Coming home with more fish.
Yeah, I seem to have the same problem around here - trying to find a quality LFS.
Welll....maybe that 57 gal. will have to be set up after all....
OMG, Shawnie, I can't believe you have another tank of fish that you don't know what to do with I am glad that you rescued them. Okay, so I have a couple of ideas, but I they are a little unorthodox, lol. I might be able to take one off of your hands if I can convince my hubby to pay for shipping. Also, can you sex them? Could you possibly keep a group of females in the 30 gallon? Convicts can mix with Africans (temperment wise) if you could slowly acclimate them to the higher pH. I currently have a con in with my Africans (7.8) pH and she does fine with them. You could possibly move a couple males over into your African tank...... I know that nothing about this idea is ideal, but sometimes we just have to make it work however we can. Good luck with your new babies!
Heck Shawnie, too bad I'm in Tn, I'd like to come rummage through your shed. lol
Oh, never mind, it's taken me forever to figure out what I want in my 30. lol
Time to have bf build an attached fish room if you ask me.
they are deffinately a jelly bean convict..TY AMANDA...their body's are totally that of a br parrot, and they have the con eyes and mouth (they do close more than the parrots) ..they as of yet, 2 hours in my care, not the temperment of the cons....
kate ...ill pay for shipping if you want some..we can fish trade with some of your africans if you want... let me know heres a short vid and sorry about the lighting
never expecting jellys so soon, sexing them is something i have to read more on now that i have them... but most of what ive read, isnt giving me any info...these are NOT the dyed jellys...they havent ever had any color but what they are....but im 100% sure they are the jelly beans (convict/br parrot combo)
i do have a ton of tanks now jonah but no more room for anymore to be set up!!!!! too bad she didnt decide to do this before the new 75 gal hahah grrrrr
