Video with MOV File Extension

Can you upload a video with a .mov file extension? I can't get mine to upload on youtube. Am I doing something wrong?

My phone records video in .mov format with an option to upload directly to YouTube, so whatever is preventing your uploads may not be related to the file extension. In fact, YouTube's site says:

Quote:
we recommend that you save your videos as either QuickTime .MOV, Windows .AVI, or .MPG files— these are the most common formats and they work well within our system.
When you say you can't get them to upload, do you get any kind of error message?

No error message, just 10 minutes (literally) later, it's still working. Am I being impatient? I'm not a member of photobucket. Do I need to be? How does that work? The only one I'm familiar with is youtube.

Maybe! How big is the file?

YouTube says it could take up to 24 hours, but that seems more than a little excessive:

Quote:
Uploading a video can take several hours, depending on the length of your video and the demand on the servers. If your video upload is taking longer than 24 hours to complete, we recommend canceling the upload, checking the length and settings for your video, and uploading it again.

Please make sure any firewall software you may have is allowing the connection to our server. If you're on a corporate or school network the connection may be blocked. You might want to check with your network administrator to find out what restrictions your network's under.

You may also want to try clearing your browser cache and cookies and uploading your video again.

I'm going to try photobucket. If you guys don't see it by tonight, this will be me in the corner of my bedroom in the dark-

Holy smoke, 24 hours? That does seem excessive. However, I've never done this before so it may be me-imagine that

How long does it usually take you all to upload vids on youtube?

Hmmm, maybe I should try it early in the morning, like between 6 and 9ish.

You know it's the jellys I video'd, right? Once I get this video thing down, I'm gonna catch 'em on tape "arguing"

Some kind of high speed that I got through Charter. I thought I got the "supercharged" so to speak. My regular internet's pretty quick, so here's hoping.

You are such a brat! lol

Any videos I take with my camera are too large for any vid. sharing sites or even to e-mail. I'm following this to see how you figured it out.

Mine did the same thing with Youtube..Just loaded forever and ever and ever..lol..Never did load up..Shawnie is the one that told me about photobucket and it works like a charm. You do have to have an account but it's super easy. All the videos I have posted on here are from Photobucket. I wouldn't of minded using Youtube just couldn't get it to load my .mov files. Good luck..ohhh yeah and the first couple of times I uploaded to photobucket it got stuck on 60% but when I refreshed the video was there so just in case you run into that.

I have no idea how to do that. I don't have any of my tanks anyway. Just some family stuff.

Sorry bolivianbaby, don't want to hi-jack.
I hope you get it worked out.
