The smilies block is huge, even on this hi res display. Other than , which I let the editor replace for me, I never use them. When I want to add a link or do some formatting, I have to scroll way up to get to the buttons.

How do I get rid of that block while still having access to all the other formatting controls?

choose just one smiley as your fav pete and then the rest will go away

Click the little star on the top right (favorite smilies star)
Can you untick (is that a word?) any?
