They're mostly in the USA - their sleep time right now. Won't be long and there will be more online. It may take 24 hours to get the job done.
I was looking to delete a thread when I first started - that's how I found out.
It may be a case of checking your thread later rather than being on standby - could be a long night!

To answer the question on deleting threads, it is something that a moderator has to do. If there is a thread of yours that you would like to see deleted let me or any of the mods know andwe will look into it for you.
As far as becoming a moderator... Mike the owner/moderator of the site asks those that he feels has been a long standing member, has been helpful with advice for others and courteous to name a few of the requirements.

Popularity and being a long standing member that is helpful, gives good advice and follows the rules apply to becoming a moderator.
As a new member, you have a long way to go before it is taken into consideration.
