Sadly i may have to move Rosie to a new yard. Rent has gone up which i don't like but i can live with that but we only have 2-4 hours turn out a day now!!! My poor pony spends 20 hours in her stable. She is happy BUT!!!
I am looking around to find a good place to move to.....not easy!!!!
Rosie needs more time to move around.....I have had horses for years....don't now but in another life....I used to raise and show horses.....
They really need things to do, play with, occupy them so they keep a happy outlook, and don't chew and all the other bad habits horses get into by standing doing nothing for 20 hours a day!
Oh me too!! Keeping them stabled due to lack of grazing is common where i live sadly. It is a beautiful part of the UK but LOTS of horses too.
I don't know if you have ever read about me but i'm back with my folks after MANY years away. To buy a property on my own isn't possible with house prices here SO we are now looking around for a house with land. It will take time, a huge move etc BUT if it can be done Rosie and her field mate Izzy will be living the way I and Izzy's mum want.
I can say Rosie is very happy, i know her ways and if i thought for half a second she was distressed i'd bring her to our back garden and shed!!!! She is a cheeky 'Thellwell' pony. She is always up to mischief!!!
I love where we are and she has been chilled and happy so i hope we can stay. She is out with the only other mare Izzy and they are such good mates ( as am i with Izzy's owner now)
They are in a routine that they appear settled into.............i'd hate to separate them...........and to move Rosie to a yard where she is unhappy ( last yard used to beat our horses, once i found out i moved within the week!!)
