Setting up heater without suction cups

Hi all, I need to set up a q tank for a guppy but im not home and won't be till thursday. Called to ask sister to set it up but she can't find the suction cups that hold the heater to the glass.
Is there any other way to put the heater in without them? or is it dangerous to leave have it lying in there against the glass? Any ideas really appreciated!

I don't know any way to secure it. You can buy replacement heater suction cups at the LFS though

argh it's so annoying not being there to set it up lol, i'll ask her to check the pet shop for suction cups, but until then do you think it would be of any benefit to like put the guppy in a small medicated bath for a few mins and then put him back into main tank?

then just have her hang it over the side, and keep it under water and let it lean against the side of the tank...have the cord hooked under the cover just enough to have slack so it wont flow around the tank..it should be fine without suction cups as long as its just sitting there..and dont medicate the sick baby then put it back...that will just contaminate the tank ..goodluck!

is it ok for the bottom of the heater or the sides to touch against the glass?

you dont need it to touch the bottom..dont let the cord lower it that far...and it wont hit the sides flesh if the cord space is in there holding it a little bit away...just put it so its below the water line with the cord space bewteen it...
