Does anyone recommend the inline heater? I see tons of people recommending the stealth but I was wondering if the inline heaters are any good.

I use a Hydor ETH inline heater, and I'm happy with it.

To me, yes. I like to keep as much of the mechanical clutter outside of the tank as I can. I also like the fact that all the water passing through my filter gets heated, rather than just having one static heat point in the tank.

Not personally, no. I've read a few instances online where people either didn't mount it vertically (as the instructions say you must do several times) or bumped the temperature dial on accident and overheated the tank, but it's been good for me.

ive had my Hydor ETH on my 55g for probably a month or so now and ive had the EXACT same experience as mathas. id buy it again.

FYI Update. I bought one and really like having less stuff in the tank. keeps a vary consistent temp. My only complaint is that it turns on and off quite and I can har the clicking notice. But its not too bad.
