Suction cup placement on Stealth heaters

Can the suction cups on Stealth heaters be placed anywhere along the tube ... or do they have to be in a certain area? If possible, I'd like to put one at each end to make horizontal placement easier.

For some reason, I recall reading that both suction cups should be mounted within 3 inches of the top of the heater ... prehaps due to the location of the heating core? Can't recall if it was in the directions ... as I can't find the packaging, though I know it's around here somewhere, lol.

I followed the directions, which I also recall saying that the suction cups should be in the top 3 inches of the heater. I'd guess these instructions are to avoid the heating area.

I have some of the smaller ones (50W) mounted horizontally this way with no problems.

Thanks, Ray.

I also believe it's to avoid the heating element.

Since I have the instructions handy, they indeed suggest mounting the suction cups within 3” of the top of the heater. I have the Stealth 200W heater mounted horizontally with the section cups positioned as instructed and have had no problems with it.

oops I've got three of those heaters and place my suction cups one near top and other near the bottom. Guess I never read the instructions ---next water change I'll have to change the suction cups.
