Are the stick on the outside of the tank thermometers accurate? Im a little skeptical because they are not actually in the water.

Well...

I've never used those, but the reason I never did was I found the concept of those to be much like the forehead thermometers.. so I didn't have faith in getting an accurate reading.

The floating glass thermometers are cheap and much more accurate in my opinion.

The one you stick on the out side thermometers are ok for a ball park reading I have one that came on my 75g from the guy I bought it from but it is allways a few degraes of from the one I have in the tank... The inside on reads 76 and the stick on one reads 74... I did not trust it ether thats why I got the one that went inside the tank.... Rob

Have tried both to find neither of them is really accurate when compared to digital thermo. When I tried few different internal glass thermo, still all three show somewhat different readings. Thus what ever I use, I will just depend on one rather few umless way off.
