I am having another problem with my tank. this time it is the heater. i have a 300 watt topfine heater and its over a year old. its overheating my 90 gallon tank. i have a glass thermometer and it shows the temp close to 88 degrees it could be hotter since the heater the thermometer our on sepreat sides of the tank. it is unpluged to cool the the tank down. i have the setting on the heater to the lowest it can go. is it time to get a new heater? or is there a solution to fix this heater.

i'm not really sure if it's possible to fix your heater.....it may be time to invest in a new one. i'd go with a marineland heater because they're guaranteed for life

Sounds like it's time to get a new heater. Cooked fish are no fun when they're your pets.

thanks, ill buy a new one tomorrow since all the stores are closed. i well plug the heater back in when the temp gets to low so they dont freeze over night since its still in the low 40 here
