Hey guys and gals.
I have been cycling a new 5.8gl aquarium and it was finally ready to add a betta.. but low and behold as soon as I added the little guy, the heater stopped working! Now my poor little guy is holed up in my main tank in a breeding box to separate him from my guppies.

It was a 50w heater because it came with the tank.. is this wattage okay or should I go bigger or smaller? Stooopid thing didn't have a thermostat light on it so I'm not sure how long it took to warm up the water or anything.

I think that a 25w heater would work fine in your tank.

Either a 25w or a 50w could work, but a 50w would have to be set to a lower temp. than you wanted. I'd also say go with a 25w.

A 25w is fine for your 5g.
If you're planning on upgrading to a 10g, I'd get the 50w.
