Heater for 2.5 Gallon Betta Tank
When I ordered my bettas off of aquabid, the seller included an extra betta for me as a free gift. This put me in the position of trying to find a tank for my betta without breaking the bank. I ended up with a 2.5 gallon all glass tank with a flourescent strip light, in tank whisper filter, and under gravel heater. I did not want to put a regular heater in the tank because the tank is so small as it is and it would take up to much room. The problem is, the heater doesn't have a knob to adjust the temperature. So, either I plug the heater in and the tank gets between 90 and 95 degrees YIKES! or, I don't use the heater and the water stays at about 78 degrees. I know that bettas like their water to be at 80 degrees and Glitter has a little bit of fin damage so I want to make sure that his tank is kept warm enough. Does anyone have any suggestions on a heater that is small and compact that is also inexpensive? When I decided to put him in a tank and keep him instead of taking him back to the LFS I did not plan on spending a lot of money, but so far, his little set up has cost me $65! I could have put him in a 10 gallon for that amount of money geeeeeeeez!
