Hi...I know there are many heaters available, but I was wondering what opinions were on best quality heater...I have had some good and some bad...A couple of them had temp knobs that turn but never change the temp (although they still heat at one temp..81 degrees)..It seems I have had more luck with submergables as opposed to the dry ones..

Visi-Therm heaters are generally good - I hear lots of people like them. I have 2 of them too, and no problems so far. The big plus is that they're not glass so they're very hard to break. I also have 2 Hagen's "Tronic" heaters which are glass, but also never had any problems with them. Of course, because they're glass, you have to be careful with them. These are the only 2 brands I've personally used, so I can only tell you about them.

I have a aquaclear which I like a lot, I've heard good things about visi-therm and jagers by eheim.

I have 1 All Glass Aquarium model that came with one of my tanks, plus 3 visi-therm stealth units that I have bought individually. All have worked well, though I like the visi-therm stealth ones for the durability reasons Isabella mentioned.

visi therm stealth...they really are with-in one degree....my heater that came with my tanks starter kit...was not ...it when off the charts it was dangerous ...i spent the extra money for a nice one and it was worth it
