heater

We have just bought a complete set up from a pet store but im not sure if I have a heater how long can my tropical fish go without the heater. It is 10.11pm here and I wont have access to a store until 9am tommorow

we have just added tropical fish to our newly prepared tank but I dont think we have a heater.
Fish went in 3.30pm it is now 10.16pm wont be able to buy a heater until 10am next day. Will they be alright?

Unless it is really cold where you are, they should be ok until morning, but they do need the heater soon.

It sounds like you have fish in your new tank already? If so, you REALLY need to be knowledgeable of the nitrogen cycle (if you already are...sorry) in the tank, as the process could well kill your fish if you do not keep up with it. Check out this link to learn more:

thanks for your help I am a new user to this forum. We checked the ph level it is fine is this enough and we have limestone in the tank

The parameters you really need to be testing for are ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. Ammonia and nitrite can sicken, and possibly kill your fish at relatively low levels. Check out that link...it goes into a lot more detail.
