| The rule for any fishtank is no more than 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. Fish in the wild do not have to live in their own waste water because the water constantly cycles. If you have too many fish in your tank the water contaminates really quickly and fish will start getting sick and the money you spend is out the window or down the toilet(same place your fish will be) The less fish you have in a tank will give more fresh water per fish and in turn make them alot happier.
