Beginner Hard Coral

What would be a good begginer hard coral for a tank that's matured over a year? It would have to play nice with Horsies, Dragonets and Gobies.

So I like to plan! Yes, I have a tank.... kind of. I put a deposit on the 145G, I have two 10G and one 5G. I don't like the 145G/Long So I think I'll use that as my refugium. I'm thinking Ulva Lettuce Algae, chaetomorpha Algae, Mangrove and brine shrimp in it. Sound good? I'm not too sure about the mangrove though. I love the filtration it provides, I just don't like the size. I'll have to think about it some more.

To answer your question, since you answered mine ...LOL
Some easier SPS would be monti. digitata, A. yongei (green slimer), stags, birdsnest.

You've just given me hours of Internet surfing and days of research... I asked for it, didn't I?

145g FOR $150!!!!!!?!?!? I WANT IT!!! lol

Muchrooms and Xenia are probebly the easiest corals, but their not hard corals...
Brains are pretty easy. Avoid flowerpot Gonis.
Zoas I think are easy, but their polyps, not hards...

SPS, I have no idea. I'm a softie/LPS guy, not SPS.

Reef Freak, you can probably have it for free. The tank had the bottom glass broken. So I didn't take it and the people kept my money. Unfortunately there is no lawyer that will "waste" his time on just $150. Oh well!

Know where they live? Toilet paper is relatively cheap.

Who cares were they live, get their name and you can find them on White Pages! You should go up to them and say:;kmg

I would take it if my mom would let me. Just fix the crack with some sealer and it shouldn't leak.

the 145G was going to be my saltie. for a mini reef at 145G I'm looking at about, if not more than, 1500lbs. I don't think it would be smart to trust a broken tank with over half a ton of weight.

I agree. Don't play around with a tank that has already broken once. Especially given how much money you would have inside the tank.

You could have rebuilt the tank with all the current glass, just a new bottom piece...oh well.

I thought about that, however the glass alone was $190. I rather wait to go to Long Beach to pick up the 180G for $300... (that is if the place is leggit lol)
