Umm... wow!!! You work fast. LOL

Ok, seriously, I would go to petco or where ever and find a couple of small tanks and some bubblers, or at least a few of birthing chambers.

I think you are going to fill that tank pretty quickly!
If you want the babies to survive I really think you will need to get another tank. They can have a new batch every month or so. And that is a lot of fish that will reproduce! Don't get nervous you can handle it. If you can't get another tank and are not too worried about them surviving you can put more plants and hiding places and see how it goes, but with a ten gallon tank, if some do make it to adulthood you will need more space anyway. Good luck and keep us posted.

Had the same problem (with pregnant mollies). Fished the fry from the main tank and put them in the brand new (uncycled) quarantaine tank. Had a right old panick about it but after 3 weeks of checking the ammonia/nitrite/nitrate and 25% daily water changes, I seem to have cycled (had my ammonia and then nitrite spike) and the little buggers are none the worse. Labour-intensive, but they seem to have survived (fingers crossed).

you'll want to put netting around the filter intake along with giving the fry as many places to hide as possible. and a new tank will come in handy as you'll be having LOTS of fry for a while.

If you're going to keep them in the main tank, try using marbles (although someone had a problem with that because they chipped, but I never). The round type, not the flat type. And you need decent sized marbles, not the smallest kind. Pile about 6 on top of each other and the fry will hide in the gaps between the marbles. Looks really cool too. Here's a picture: http://www.fishlore.com/Forum/8-bree...for-fry.0.html.

They also like to hide in hornwort (plant). It's a very hardy plant too, and the big fish loves to nibble on it. They also like to hide near the root of big leafed plants.

multiple tank syndrome.. most aquarium owners seem to get more tanks after their first one as they grow to love fish & fishkeeping, so MTS hits a lot of us.. we're at 10 tanks now and only started with 1 near the start of this year.. and our 10 tanks is nothing compared to how many tanks other members have.

Probably a good idea.. more than 1 tank takes a lot of time & work.

This is the deal....

The more fry your fish have the more bioload you put on your ten gallon tank. I had 2 female gups and one male along with about 30 fry. I had to do water changes every 2 to 3 days to keep the water clean. It would be very wise of you and your parents to look into another tank so you can separate the females from the males to control breeding. Otherwise it will get way out of control very fast.
