Guppies eating cichlid pellets

i fed my manganese some top fin cichlid pellets and feeder guppies like i usually do and a 2 of the remaining guppies were trying to eat the cichlid pellets that weren't eaten! why are they doing that when they aren't cichlids

Re: Guppies eating cichlid pellets

sometimes they'll just eat whatever is put in front of them. My fancy tail guppies will nip at the shrimp pellets and algae wafers I drop in for the cories, I guess they are just wanting to eat and will eat what's there. It's normal, just make sure the cichlids eat.

Did you forget to show them the can, so they knew not to eat the food from it?

Most fish will try to eat anything that smells like food to them.
