Deformed fry?

I have a female who has been in a breeder box for about 7 days. She doesn't seem stressed out and all seemed well. She ate fine until yesterday. The breeder box is a 3 way one where I took out the divider so it is even a little bigger than normal. She started to look really ready and "squarish" yesterday. I noticed this morning that there was one deformed fry in the bottom of the box this morning. It appeared to be just eyeballs, but no tail - I couldn't tell for sure because it was dead. Nothing else happened all day with her. Now tonight I noticed one other deformed fry (dead) and now one live fry but still holding a visible yolk and struggling at the bottom of the box. So, two dead and one deformed and certain to die and nothing else seeming to come.

Is there anything I can do at this point? I am trying to leave her alone and keep her from being stressed out. She is still huge and otherwise looks normal. Would it help if I turned off the tank light?

the fry are deformed from either malnurtition or bad genes. if she has dropped before with no problems, she didnt have as good of a diet this time. if any live, i can feed them on a food high in protien (i give mine BettaMin) or sacrifce them to some other fish if they dont develop properly. deformities can make it hard to swim, and therefore get food and get away from danger. >.< good luck!

She has had good food for about a month (as long as I've had her) but I don't know her history beyond that. I kept her quiet over night and she dropped about 8 more. They were all dead except one. They seemed to have large yolks attached and so maybe "premature?" The one that is still alive is sort of scooting around the bottom of the box. His yolk is too big for him to swim normally. She is still huge and boxy so I don't think she is done at all.

I guess I don't need to feed the "scooter?" My assumption is he will live off his yolk or die? I hope if she hangs on to the rest for a day or so there is a chance some will make it.

I have uploaded a recent pic of my female. She has dropped about 15 deformed fry now (over about 28 hours) and there is a long clear stringy thing hanging from her. I think it is poop. Does this mean she has worms too? Could this be why she is having trouble with this brood? She still looks so big to me but of all the fry - only one was alive and it is struggling at the bottom of the tank, not able to swim.

What do you think?
