Picture of my pregnant Guppy

At the moment i have 2 female pregnant guppies. One of them is really large and the other quite small. I got them from the pet shop when they were pregnant so im not sure how long they have been pregnant for. I have attached a picture as this is the first time i have bred guppies and i am not sure when to put her in the breeding tank. I can see the eyes and she is quite square.

Anyone know when she will give birth
sorry the picture is such bad quality.

I think that if you can see the eyes of the fry then she will be giving birth very soon.

I guess so, I would hate to be wrong, though! I just got guppies myself and I'm still learning about them, but that is what I read. I've never seen the fry eyes myself, though but I do know that mine swim sluggishly or float in one spot right before they give birth.

Hello Emily,

I agree with the above poster. It probably won't be too long now. But then with pregnancy you never know for certain. Most live bearers give birth every 28 to 40 days.

According to your aquarium information you are not aware of the nitrogen cycle which is crucial to fish keeping. Link below:
The Aquarium Nitrogen Cycle

Too, if you would be so kind as to put the date that you started your tank instead of "today" it would be a great help to others update all the information in your aquarium profile that you can.

Having a test kit is also recommended. API (liquid) Master Test Kit is suggested the most on this forum. I have the same kit. It tests for everything that is mentioned in the nitrogen cycle link.

If you've already been given this information, my apologies.
Best of luck for some healthy fry!
Please keep us posted.
