guppies gone without a trace

I had a ten gallon with 5 neon tetras and 3 small guppies now I have a tank with 5 neons. One guppy died after I had him about 3 weeks then a few days later I noticed the remaining 2 where hanging out at the surface in one corner of the tank for hours. Then they disappeared completely for a day or two then I saw one during feeding but its been a few more days and I haven't seen them at all, I lifted up their cave and checked the plants but couldn't find them and theres no way they got into the filter, any ideas?

And I doubt it was oxygen starvation because the water from the filter is always falling into the tank creating bubbles and the neons seem fine.

If they're dead, you should be able to smell them...sniff the tank. That happens to me, too. A year ago, I went to bed just after feeding my fish, next morning, the albino cory had vanished. Never found him again. Same thing with a zebra danio.

I had a guppy die and it just disappeared, they can get nibbled on and break down quickly and they go a transparent greyish brown. I emptied out my tank at one point and when I finished rinsing ALL my ceramic media substrate, his body was the last piece in the bottom of the bucket!

this happended to me too, with a panda cory. i ges it want up for a quick breath of air and got stuck in a plant and died o_o check all the plants and decorations for ur missing fish, then if u cant find them, clean the tank out entirly, tho leave the gravle and filter(s) alone to keep the bacteria alive

I had the same thing happen to me with two guppies that completely vanished. I think my kids had something to do with it but none of them are talking...
