spot a fin rot?

Hello again!

I've had my guppies for several days now and as I get to know more about them, my worries are growing more and more. I'm also having terrible fish nightmares in which I have nothing to do but to watch my poor guppies dead and floating on their bellies.

Anyways!
My yellow guppy has whitish color on the edge of its tail. (I noticed this the first day I brought her home, but wasnt aware of fin rot at all at that time)The other parts of its tail and fins are transparent, but it is only the edge of the tail thats kind of opaque... and ragged... I definitely dont see any reds tho...

So,,, is my guppy suffering a fin rot or is it something else? And what should I do to cure it?

please help me get my fish tank get going.. I'm seriously considering returning a sick one and get a replacement, but I want to make this my last choice since my little boy guppy spends most of his time with her.

BTW I got my test kit and my parameters read:
0 for ammonia
0 for nitrite
5 for nitrate

Also, I wanted to take a good picture of it because I know that one picture will say much more than what I can describe, but I couldn't get any accurate shots since she was never staying still with my camera around the tank.

Hi Kayman and WELCOME TO FISHLORE!

I'm not that experienced with fin rot, but if this is fin rot, here's a link you may find useful. So sorry your Guppy is going through this. Hope she gets well soon. Best of luck!

I don't remember saying welcome to fishlore, so "welcome and have a good time while youre not having nightmares"
Is it possible that another guppy did the damage to the injured one? I realize you it appeared the spot was there before you brought him home.
I would return him just to be safe. The opaque color is common on guppies tails, so I odn't know if it's an issue. Can you post a picture?
