Can the stress from mating kill a female?

My male guppy keeps trying to mate with my female guppy and I'm not sure how long it takes for them to mate or if she is already pregnant but he is still bugging her anyways she looks like she is really stressed out about it so I'm thinking about seperating the male but does too stress from mating cause the female to die?

a male guppy will literally harrass and breed a female guppy to death. This is why they say you should have ATLEAST 2 females to every 1 male

Hello NewGuppies. It may have stopped for now but chances are it will start again. The 1 male to 2 or even 3 females will really help in the long run.

I just got 2 female guppies for one male is that good now?
The male used to chase after both of the females and now he just chases after one particular one does anybody know why?

It is good to have 2 or 3 females for the male guppy. I noticed male guppies never stop trying to mate. My guppy also likes following the same female most of the time. I noticed the one he follows the most is the biggest female. I guess he likes them thicker?... haha.

Hello NewGuppies. Yes, the addition of 2 new female guppies will surely help to relieve some of the stress the single female was having. Congrats on the new additions. I hope you can share some photos sometime.

Here are some pictures I'm guessing both of the females are pregnant but just to be sure do they look like they are?

2 females to a male and they are around only 10 day pregnant (from when I saw the male mate with them)

If you can you should put some sort of shelter in your tank. If the harrassed female can escape his line of sight, he should turn his attention to another female, which will give her a much needed break. I think most livebearers exhibit this behavoir. I know Mollies, Swords and Endlers do... from experience.

they could have been pregnant when you got them.. they can hold sperm inside them for a few weeks and not impregnate themselves right away..tthey look much further along than 10 days or they are constipated..one or the other.....and yes they both look like girls to me....

We got them from a store that seperated the male and females so they shouldn't have been pregnant when we got them and I don't think they are constipated because they seem to be going poo without any troubles maybe i overfed them?
