Hey all,
I was just wondering...do all female guppies have gravid spots or only the pregnant ones?
I've heard that the gravid spot is a sure sign of pregnany, but I've also heard others say that they have guppies who were born with gravid spots?

The gravid spot will get larger as the fish continues through the pregnancy. I think about all female guppies have it. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think I am.

all fems have it yes ..or at least all ive seen...they do get larger and darker as they progress in pregnancy and depending on the color of the fems, some arent as noticeable...

My female guppies have a gravid spot all the time, also their 2 month old fry have a small gravid spot too!

All females have one, it just becomes more pronounced and large as she gets closer to giving birth.

It also changes color as she gets closer to dropping her fry. Chances are if it is black she is close, and if brown she either still has a while. Also sometimes the last day or 2 before she drops the fry you might be able to see little eyes. I have read about it being common on another forum, but have only actualy able to see the eyes once.
