40 more new fry again today...

So the female I moved to the breeding tank finally gave birth last night. I woke up to around 40 fry this morning happily swimming around together and one skinny former big bertha USA. Is it true that I shouldn't feed them for the first 48 hours as they have egg sacs? It doesn't look like they have egg sacs, they are pretty skinny. And I have been culturing infusoria in a jar for 2 weeks and the water is starting to look pretty cloudy with little white clumps floating inside. Does that mean its ready? Should I or should I not feed them in the next 2 days? I mean they look hungry lol.

im assuming this fish is some type of livebearer? if so, they dont have egg sacs so you do have to feed them ....congrats on the babies!! im glad mama made it ok also bet shes happy to have her figure back

I appologize I didnt see the "guppy" at the end ..another one of my brunette moments but livebearers are not born with egg sacs as they are born live..crushed up flakes, decapsulated brine shrimp eggs, fry bites and even the egg will work as far as feeding...just with the boiled egg, it leaves a huge mess and might be more work to clean up but its healthy! goodluck and congrats again

i wouldn't feed them egg yolk or infusoria. these two foul the tank easily. i would feed them crushed flakes. congrats!

Thanks for the advice everyone! Badwolf, is powdered spirulina and flakes a good choice? I'm getting a brine shrimp hatchery this week that I won on aquabid so they will have some live food pretty soon! They seem to like the flakes the best anyways so i'll stop the egg yolk.

I got the Hikari First Bites and all my babies (livebearers and egg laying) love it. I have some golden pearls coming from Kens along with some other goodies. I have heard great things about the golden pearls and I can't wait to get them. At least then they will have a little variety. My guppy and endler babies also like flakes crushed to a fine powder.

Well today my girlfriend, who adopted the fry tank because of how cute they were, started to powder spirulina and flakes under my advice and apparently they are eating a ton of that so I guess they like spirulina as well. They all have nice round little bellies so I guess they are doing just fine.

As SWilkins said, if you want to compliment their diet the hikari first bites is awesome. congrats.
