Territorial Guppies?

Hey guys, I've been having some weird problems with my Guppies lately. As of now I have 2 guppies (1fm and 1m) but for some reason the female keeps on picking on the male. He's always hiding behind my filter now, even though I have some decorations and hiding places. He also eats a lot less now and I'm afraid hes going to die. I've tried taking the female out for a day in a different tank then putting her in again, but it still didn't seem to work. Also, she's not aggressive towards other fish in the tank. Is an aggressive female guppy normal, or is there something I'm doing wrong?

I have never heard about territorial, or agressive guppies.

Usually when you keep ONE male ONE female, the MALE agresses because there's only one female. Never saw it happen the other way around.

That said, I'd remove that Angelfish from the tank if you want to keep the guppies. Angelfish may decide to snack on them.

That behavior is unusual and may be due to the other fish in with the gups.

That is odd, though I have seen my Red Swordtail female get territorial towards my Koi Swordtail male as well as the Koi Swordtail female. I may just be the personality of the female, prolly the case as well with your female guppy. Some fish just have a streak in them and there isn't much to worry about unless they actually become harmful to the other fish in the tank.

Another possibility I thought of is behavior I noticed in my guppies. In a the 10 gallon they were always ansy and on edge. I would not say they were stressed but they hardly ever stopped moving long enough for even a simple photograph. In my 30 they got a lot calmer and settled down a lot.

Are you sure she is not pregnant? I know any time my female guppies are about to give birth they get very territorial. They pick where they want to give birth and will chase any other fish away from that spot. This might not be the case, but just reminded me of that.
