is the mommy guppy suppose to die when it has it fry? i went to change the water and found her dead didn't think she had a chance to have them cuase her tummy was pretty big. then i saw about 20 fry who kicked my cory out of his hiding spot. its a well planted corner with rocks that seem to provide decent shelter. i dont have anywhere else to put them.

we never had guppies so we might be in trouble here

well, the cory wont be a bother as long as he's well fed. i used to have guppies and my guppy mom died due to a miscarriage

What size tank are the guppies and cory in? What numbers of what fish are in there? At what temperature do you keep the tank?

Females of any species (fish or not) can die before, during, or after rearing offspring... sometimes the cause is related and sometimes it is not. Livebearers do need a lot of vegetable matter in their diets to maintain proper vitamin and mineral balance. (Babies take a lot of vitamins and minerals from the mother during gestation.)

Again, it could be unrelated to the pregnancy, hence the few other questions.
