I'm a grandma! Uh, grandgupma...

I've been lurking here for a while now and thought I'd share my good news... one of our female guppies dropped 15 fry, and 11 lived! They are 8 days old and soooo cute! We removed all of them to a nursery tank and put Mom back in the community tank, but she caught a fungus and passed on. So sad, but at least we have her babies.

The "other wife" dropped her fry 2 weeks ago and we didn't realize it til mid-way thru the feast, the gold tetras made short work of them. We didn't manage to save any.

Someone dropped at least 2 more babies yesterday... probably the white molly, since she's much thinner now. Don't see any more, so I guess they went to the buffet also.

We have 3 tanks, a 29 gal community tank with 2 female black and 1 male black molly, 2 female white mollies (their hubby died, I'll replace him Friday), 1 female and 1 male fancy guppy (will replace Dot on Friday also), 1 neon tetra, 1 balloon molly, a glow in the dark special from Wal-Mart (that is too aggressive) and a 3 inch sucker that we need to find a home for and replace. We also have a 1.5 gal nursery tank with 13 fry and a 1 gal with a blue male betta.

Hope to learn lots more from you all!

Kathy

Welcome to Fishlore.
Congratulations on the births. Sorry that some were lost to the other fish. It's really difficult, since you never know when they're going to give birth, to keep all of the little guys safe.

Welcome to Fishlore.
Sorry for the deaths, but you have babies, how cool is that?

We love pics so, post some soon.

Now, about the betta in a the 1g, how about giving him an upgrade? He'd love it.
