| quiet guppy
we have 30g tank w. 2 mollies, added 6 tetras, 4 guppies last wkend. all well till 1st night. lost 2 tetras that night, 1 tetra in morning. after couple days, one guppy looked suspicious - hovering behind filter at top of tank - not moving, just very still - no interest in food. we isolated him and gave some med. he hung in overnight so we put back into tank & all well but now he hanging at top of tank again very quiet and still. not ever really interested in playing w.his friends or eating. any suggestions? water levels are good, temp is good, etc. do they just have weird personality traits where one will be odd man out like this? no evidence of him being picked on by others. he is moving fins, just not actively swimming. |

? he doesn't appear to be tilting or gulping or anything - just hanging about quietly. I'm new to fish - keep checking on them like i did my son when he was a baby. last night we turned tank light out and I checked on them later - the guppies all hanging on bottom - I freaked - thought they all on way to death. hubby had fish before and assured me that they were just resting and were OK - all were moving fins and just chilling - and sure enough they are OK - playing and eating and normal as all get out today. I just can't stand the thought of them (even though "JUST" a fish) suffering cause I don't know enough... tend to be paranoid... maybe
