I have been buying guppies for my 10 gallon tank at Petco and Petsmart and they have been dying at an alarming rate (almost 1 per day)! I am now down to one. I have 3 swordtails that are temporarily in the same tank and they are completely fine. The water levels are fine as well. Does anyone know where to get healthy fancy guppies? I always see pictures that other people have of guppies with really unusual colors and all I can seem to find are the red, orange, and yellow ones. I am about ready to give up on guppies because they keep dying so fast

Any local fish stores that aren't big chains. You can order them online. You can go to auctions at local quarium clubs. You can try aquabid.com. It is like a fish eBay. Those are the only places I can think of atm.

Cory is right on all of the places that he listed. If you wait for the spring warm-up it will be easier to get a wider selection on aquabid.

Cool thanks so much guys. I know that guppies are not supposed to be hard fish to keep but I guess getting them at the big chain stores was my problem

We got some very healthy guppies from local breeders. And Dino's got super fancy gups that I'd recommend to anyone when he starts shipping.

I had 5 small ones in a ten gallon tank. Since I only have one left, I decided to do something completely different with the tank for now. In the spring though I may want to do a 20 gallon and devote it to guppys. Let me know when Dino starts shipping!
