New Fry !! Can an oto move in??

Is it ok to put an oto in with guppy fry to help with the housecleaning?? ( Only fry in tank)

I am the proud caregiver of 25 beautiful perfect little guppy fry born yesterday.

( There would have been 26 - a whole alphabet- but mom ate "E" ( #5) shortly after he was born.) I will be posting pics later.

Mom & babies doing fine, Mom happily back in the 55 with her sisters after resting with her fry ( and not eating any), and babies eating, swimming, and amazing me all day long!!!

Special thanks to

Thanks. Val

thinks the oto would be fine and would not bother the fry.

Congrats on your babies, and so glad it worked out so far with them.

Hi Val

How big is the fry tank?

I'd not put only one oto in, if you can avoid it. They'll be happiest the more otos you have. I'd say you can get away with 3 in most tanks, provided you make sure you feed them plenty of algae and extra vegetables.

That's how I started with otos too: as baby-sitters in a molly fry grow-out tank that was getting too much algae for my taste.
