Blue's loosing his mind !!!

Is it true that a male gourami is "good" until he reaches full sexual maturity ? If so, i think my 3 year old neon blue dwarf is pretty lonley, If so, how long before they face up to the fact it'll
never happen ?

Well he first killed my 2 yr old betta then a few neon tetras then only one of two red line chocolate gouramis the female, then a female honey gourami 3 yrs old too and the female powder blue . He left 3 other male gouramis alone. He stopped changing himself to a purplish color and seems a bit calmer now. Thank god hu.

gourami's and bettas are too close of relatives to ever be in the same tank together..and more than one gourami per 30 gals is a huge disaster also gouramis dont like others of their own ..im sorry for all your losses but its natural what he has done ...

I have found sparkling and honey gouramis to be nice to each other in small spaces, but that might be luck, everything else will kill.

Gourami temperaments vary fish-to-fish. There are some who claim they're the most peaceful fish out there, others who claim they'll massacre an entire tank. When I first started owning 3-spots one of my females killed her mate, but thereafter left the rest of the gouramis in the tank alone. They're generally too unpredictable for anyone but someone with years upon years of dealing with moody fish to try to keep in the same tank as the same and like species.
